Deleting a city but recovering original geography

I think the header speaks for itself.

When I delete an old city and went bankrupt, I end up with a blank, flat square... instead of the original regional geography.

I want to recover the original geography... because... I liked it, or whatever. Doesnt matter. I just cant figure out how to do it.

Sure, I can and should and do reconcile borders, but its not the same.

Yeah. You simply have to go into the city you want to destroy, then click on the God mode or whatever it's called, and click the button where you see a detonator depicted. It's at the top of the options you can pick.

The result will be everything deleted, except the connections to the other cities I think, but that you can solve by slightly raising, lowering or flattening the land, so it's not hard.
