General Rules

• Members are allowed to have a maximum of one account per person.
• You may not post referral, commission, or affiliate links on the forum.
• All messages should be posted in English.
• Intentionally bypassing the forum filter is not allowed.
• Please be polite, rudeness will not be tolerated.
• All messages are property of SimCityForum.Com and we reserve the right to move, edit, delete, save or redistribute any post without notice.

Posting Rules

• Requesting or posting illegal media files is not allowed.
• Warez or anything else illegal (including posting license keys) is not allowed.
• Spamming and double posting are not allowed.
• Please put some thought into your posts, not just one word replies or stuff like "I agree" or "it sucked" - tell us why you agree or why it sucked!
• Posting links or images of pornographic material is not allowed.
• New residents are not allowed to post links promoting their sites. New residents are defined as members with fewer than twenty posts and/or been a member for fewer than twenty days.

Advertising Rules

• You may post a text link to your site in your sig or in the Advertising forum (ads from 'one post wonders' will be removed!)

• Affiliate links are not allowed. Exceptions might be made at the Mayor's (a.k.a. Ken's) discression.

Private Message and Email Abuse

• DO NOT use SimCityForum.Com as a basis for spamming or scamming our members.
• We take PM/email abuse very seriously, and it will result in the immediate removal of your membership and ban of your IP address, without warning

Other

• Any abuse towards our staff or forum members will not be tolerated, and may result in suspension of your account.
• We reserve the right to modify these rules at any time without notice. It is your responsibility to be informed.
• Anyone 13 years of age or younger MUST have their parents' or legal guardian's permission before participating in this forum.
• All minors must receive their parents' or legal guardian's permission before giving out their address in these forums or via private message. This includes giving out their address for the purpse of receiving prizes offered through contests held in this forum.

If there is a rule or policy you do not understand, or if you require any further assistance, you may PM a forum admin.

1. Must be an active member with at least 200 quality posts. This shall be decided by Staff
2. Must have a good history and use good grammar and spelling to set a good example to members
3. Candidate must be approved by majority of the present staff
4. If Advisor is inactive for four months they shall be demoted and possibly replaced with new advisor elected by Staff.
5. Any member may be promoted or demoted as an advisor for any reason necessary. Reasons for immediate demotion include: abuse of position, policy violations, etc.
6. This criteria can be updated or revised by Mayor Ken as necessary.
7. Mayor Ken always makes the final decision to promote or demote any advisor. His decisions are final.
8. In general there shall be only one new Advisor for every 12 members who have logged on and posted in a given month, unless more are needed needed.

This policy sets out the way in which data about living individuals, which we receive from you, may be processed by us via this website. Please note, however, that this privacy policy will not apply to any foreign or third party websites which are linked to this website as SimCity Forum does not control the activities on these sites. Email addresses:

Email addresses provided to SimCity Forum will not be provided to third parties unless a member decides to make their email address publicly available via their profile options. The only email SimCity Forum will send will be directly related to this forum, where a member has requested that they be kept informed of activity in threads or when another member sends them a private message. Any mailing list we may create will be on an opt-in basis.

One exception to this email policy is in regards to spammers. These forums are not a dumping ground for spam (we all know what spam is). As such we reserve the right to publicly publish any email address in our spammers hall of shame such that the email address will fall victim by other spammers who crawl websites like this and harvest email addresses for the purpose of spamming them. If your real intention in joining this forum is to push spam upon us, then we don't want you here.

Third parties who may use the information

We will not pass member data on to any third parties, unless members make their information publically availible via the profile options in their control panel. Any information stored by SimCity Forum is solely for use by SimCity Forum.

Security

We strive to ensure that all customer data we collect is protected against unauthorized access. This includes the encryption of passwords, limiting physical access to the server running this forum and limiting administrative access to the server.

Operating a forum like this, even if it is just a hobby fan site, can get quite expensive in the long run. To offset long term costs of operating this forum, and enable the giving away of occasionally prizes, it is necessary to use some advertising. So as not to detract from this forum and since it is really only a fan site, advertising will be kept to a bare minimum. In addition popup/pop under ads will not be used as they are just plain obnoxious.
