Should I plan my city from the start. Zoning and building road networks while strategically keeping everything in order. Or should I start with a neighborhood and build from thier?

Well, it's really up to you. If you want to make a strict grid city, then you should zone so it looks like a good grid. I say good grid because many T intersections aren't good for traffic, so make sure when you zone for example a residential zone and a commercial zone next to each other that the streets match as much as possible. I usually zone a big res. zone and put some commercial zones in the big res. zone. The industrial zone is of course bigger than the commercial zones in my res. zone, plus that I almost always have agricultural zones somewhere as well. It's important mixing it up a bit, it's the healthiest thing for your city as far as I know, and I have experimented a lot on that field particularly.

I like using strict grid layouts for roads and avoid T intersections as much as possible as the are terrible for traffic flow. Offset T intersections are especially bad. I'd rather break corner of a nice zone grid than have a T intersection.

Hey builder totally new to the forums and SC4 but got the NAM and RTW mods, I guess RTW needs NAM to work from my understanding, but either way, whenever im in the game and try to use one of their features, my game just crashes.

maybe you got a setting that makes the game crash, or maybe it's the mod itself. I know that when I try to place a reward when playing SimMars it crashed the game each time I did that.

Where would I go to get all these SC4 mods people are on about? I know there's a site (or two?) that has them, but I dunno what it is.

It's my site. Our focus is on videogames in general,
but you can talk about anything there. Put Lancet Jades as your referrer!

    I usually use:

    http://www.simtropolis.com/index.cfm?

    or

    http://sc4devotion.com/

To get my stuff, but there are probably others as well. However, those are among the most known I would say.
